TheRusticOvertones.com Launched

Last week, the Rustic Overtones announced they would soon be launching their very own website. As of January 29th the site was open, featuring some new artwork (above) by Pat Corrigan, though some sections are 'coming soon.'

Take a look for yourself: http://www.therusticovertones.com. I have added a link to the top of our list, as well as links to their iTunes, Facebook and Twitter pages.

Not Dead Yet

Yeah, we are still here. Apologies for neglecting this for so long. Way back when we left, the guys were not touring much as they began work on a new album, and a lack of news and setlists left us with nothing to do. And we fell asleep when they came back around, leaving a pile of work to do to catch up.

Procrastinating only had it snowball, and I just didn't have the time to do it all. Things are moving again though, just in time for classes to start up again (ugh) but I'll break it into chunks and hopefully be up to date soon.

Catching Up

First off, apologies for the lack of recent updates. As you have noticed, the site has gotten a much needed makeover. This took up much of the time that would have been used to compose the updates. Please let us know if we missed anything! Anywho, with things wrapping up, we have some serious catching up to do!

Set lists and photos from recent shows at Tupelo Music Hall, Asylum, Paradise Rock Club and Jerky's Bar. Check out the new, consolidated Dates page for those links, as well as the upcoming schedule.

In addition to set lists and photos, there are four(!) new full shows available from these dates on archive.org. Huge thanks to everybody for their contributions!

Harpers Ferry Shows

Pictures and setlists are up, from the weekend's shows at Harpers Ferry, in Allston / Boston, Massachusetts. Both nights featured some treats, such as Dig, Pop Trash, and Long Division; and as usual, hijinks and wisecracks from the guys. There's some tidbits included as notes with the setlists, as well as some discussion on Tim's message board, including taping Friday's performance.

Friday: Setlist, Gallery
Saturday: Setlist, Gallery

Live at Fletcher's

I am off to Boston for the weekend, to catch Saturday's (and maybe Friday's too) performance at Harpers Ferry. Getting together with my old roommate, and with questionable weather, it could be a few days until I'm able to upload and post my pictures. I'm bringing my camera junk with me, so if there's time I'll do it there.

In the meantime, I leave you with some old goodies. First item of business, all of the photo galleries have been revamped. The images have been moved to a dedicated photobucket, and the galleries were reworked so that it's no longer a single column down the whole page. Faster loading, less scrolling, happier fingers!

The second item is another bootleg, featuring Rustic Overtones, live at Fletcher's, in Baltimore, Maryland. This set is from June 14, 2001. I thought it was on Archive.org, but I can't find it anymore, so I put it up. You can download it here. Have a great weekend!

2001 Setlists

The 2001 setlist archive is now fully functional. It was a bit monotonous pasting the archived information and adding the formatting, but it was really cool to read all the stories and comments included with many performances. For example, their Halloween show from 2001:

In honor of Halloween, the band took to the stage with pumpkins on their heads! Yes, these were actual pumpkins that the guys gutted and carved. Jon had lights in the eyes of his pumpkin which made it look pretty evil.

Rustic was not as active as they normally are on stage because they wore the pumpkins for the entire show! At the end of their set, all of the guys removed
their pumpkins and
smashed them on the stage.

The setlist index will continually be updated from here on out, with the old performances as well as their most recent ones. To do so, we need help with reports from concert-goers like you! If you have any information regarding shows that have no setlist or description, by all means send us a note, throw a post up on the forum, or leave a comment, and we'll get it added.

Rustic Overtones Setlists

There is a new link on the Rustic Overtones area for setlists. There was a suggestion to add such a section to the site, and with some help from the forum community collecting information, we were able to compile them in one location. Sign up and join in!

For the time being, only the 2007 shows and the 2002 State Theater Final Show are working, hopefully using the Wayback Machine we can recoup the old data from the old Rustic fan sites. We'll also work to keep the collection up to date.

Light At The End Lyrics

Thanks to the fan community we have pieced together the lyrics for Light At The End. You can use the site navigation or simply click here to browse them. We have also added an "Online Merch Table" thanks to Nimbit, a company that helps independent artists get their music to their fans directly. Click on over to the main page of the Rustic section to check it out, and if you've got a site or blog of your own, join in the embed-a-thon!

New News Section

Our News section is now set up via Blogger, for easier updating purposes. Hopefully this will encourage us to, well, update more. Having said that, this site was built by fans, for fans, and we rely on you to keep things fresh with new content. Send us your pictures, tabs, videos, artwork, lyrics -- anything you've got, we want it!

This post is also serving as a test for the new setup, so I have my fingers crossed. Stay tuned for a real news post.. suffice to say there's a bit of catching up to do!
