Added set lists from July 10th, at Newport Blues Cafe, July 12th, at Memorial Park and a photo gallery from the Rock & Blues Cruise courtesy of R. Pelletier. We're missing information from the 11th in Outerland, however. If you have any photos or stories to submit please do so.
Darek discovered a video of Letter To The President from the 12th on YouTube, and Onlycrayons has audio and some pictures from these shows on the way. We'll have those links up for you when they're finished, so check back in the coming days or sign up on the message board and stay ahead of the game.
Rustic Overtones performed Saturday at Tulip Fest, in Washington Park, in Albany NY. Above is a video of them playing "Oxygen." We have added a photo gallery from this date, as well.
First off, apologies for the lack of recent updates. As you have noticed, the site has gotten a much needed makeover. This took up much of the time that would have been used to compose the updates. Please let us know if we missed anything! Anywho, with things wrapping up, we have some serious catching up to do!
Set lists and photos from recent shows at Tupelo Music Hall, Asylum, Paradise Rock Club and Jerky's Bar. Check out the new, consolidated Dates page for those links, as well as the upcoming schedule.
In addition to set lists and photos, there are four(!) new full shows available from these dates on archive.org. Huge thanks to everybody for their contributions!
Exclusive new video for Rustic Overtones' "Letter To The President," from their new record "Light At The End". Directed by Doug Karr & Edward Boyce.
The video was shot in Brooklyn on February 29 when the boys were in NYC for their sold-out shows at Sullivan Hall.
The tour continues on with two final stops in Providence on Friday the 18th and Boston the 19th. Thanks to Darek and oswegomatt for their setlist and report from last night's show at Higher Ground. A new gallery has just been posted featuring Darek's shots.
Above is a video of Rustic Overtones performing Crash Landing from their set Thursday night, at Revolution Hall. I was able to film three other songs as well, Carnival, Iron Boots, and a unique rendition of Letter to the President capping the evening.
As their extended tour down the East Coast winds down, so have things around here, and finally found some time to add all the fresh pictures, videos and setlists.
So far each date has had at least some brief notes, varying to setlists with full, detailed summaries. Head to the index to see what you missed.
The gallery has some recent additions, from their shows at the Santa Fe Cafe and the Gravity Lounge (thanks to Forum member rusty covertones) as well as pictures to accompany a few videos from Revolution Hall. Also added to the gallery are some photos from their first show of 2008, at Sunday River.
Pictures, setlist and recording of the Rustic Overtones performance at Bull Moose on Saturday have been added to our archive. Check out the gallery and setlist while you await your download.
A big thank you to Nuphus for the photos, and you guessed it, Onlycrayons, for the audio. Thanks to Donna as well for the clip above as well as one of Troublesome, which you can see here.
Three sets of pictures are now online from last night's New Year's Eve Bash at Northern Lights, presented by WEQX. I sorted them into separate galleries for each band, instead of one gigantic one.
As Fast As kicked things off, followed by Paranoid Social Club. Everyone took the stage to countdown to midnight, and then Rustic Overtones began their set. The entire show was recorded, but it might not have come out that well. Check back for that in the coming days.
Pictures and setlists are up, from the weekend's shows at Harpers Ferry, in Allston / Boston, Massachusetts. Both nights featured some treats, such as Dig, Pop Trash, and Long Division; and as usual, hijinks and wisecracks from the guys. There's some tidbits included as notes with the setlists, as well as some discussion on Tim's message board, including taping Friday's performance.
No surprises here, Darek came through once again with some great shots of the Stone Church performance from Saturday, December 8th. You may have seen them already, I forgot to post something up here, but if you haven't, go check 'em out and learn more of Rustic's affinity for pumpkins.
The setlist is also up. We're missing Friday's, but there is a recording of that show in the works, that should clear things up. We'll put a link up when it becomes available. Stay tuned 'toned..
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Hopefully by now you're over your tryptophan (myth busted!) or otherwise induced holiday hangover, because there is lots of news and rumors swirling about the Rustic Overtones.
First piece of business is that they are releasing a DVD expected to be out in the Spring. They are also re-issuing Long Division in time for the "Holidays." This was confirmed via a teaser for the DVD featured on their MySpace page. I have embedded the second trailer below.
They have also signed some sort of record deal, of which the specifics aren't yet clear. That said, forum member araungzeb reported talk from Spence and Dave that both Long Division and Light At The End will be reissued, featuring bonus tracks, as part of this deal.
While you're checking out the DVD teasers on their page, have a look at the tour dates as they have several shows coming up around New England. One to keep your eye on is the New Year's Eve show. According to Northern Lights' calendar, it is shaping up to be one for the ages, featuring not only the Rustic Overtones, but Paranoid Social Club and As Fast As!! Unbelievable!!
Finally, as promised, I've found the time to get Darek's shots up in a gallery from the Higher Ground show earlier in the month. Use the site navigation for full on gallery goodness.
New pictures added to the RO Gallery, from their Asylum show back on July 28th. Many thanks to Darek for these! As always, here's a direct link for the lazies :p
Rustic performed at Revolution Hall last night, their last scheduled performance as of now. While I've been to several PSC shows, it was actually my first time seeing Rustic Overtones. It was a killer show and a good turnout. I snapped several pictures and some video of Iron Boots. See them here or use the navigation and scope out the entire archive as well.
The moment we've all been waiting for. Earlier this evening the guys played their first real show, with all the guys there, plugged-in and everything.
You can see a small gallery here at MaineToday, and more importantly you can find a recording(!) of the performance, broken into individual tracks, courtesy of Tim over at RockLikeWar. If you've got any shots of your own, pass 'em on to us and we'll get them into a gallery.
