Catching Up

First off, apologies for the lack of recent updates. As you have noticed, the site has gotten a much needed makeover. This took up much of the time that would have been used to compose the updates. Please let us know if we missed anything! Anywho, with things wrapping up, we have some serious catching up to do!

Set lists and photos from recent shows at Tupelo Music Hall, Asylum, Paradise Rock Club and Jerky's Bar. Check out the new, consolidated Dates page for those links, as well as the upcoming schedule.

In addition to set lists and photos, there are four(!) new full shows available from these dates on archive.org. Huge thanks to everybody for their contributions!

Destroy The Plastique Man

While you're over at the Bull Moose page, reserving your new Rustic CD, you may want to double up and get the new As Fast As album, Destroy The Plastique Man. Their latest creation became available just last week, following an in-store performance of their own.

You can download a recording of the Bull Moose performance here. Thanks to forum member Onlycrayons for that. As Fast As held a CD release party on the 14th at the Asylum, which he also taped, and should be available soon.

A few more quick points on Destroy the Plastique Man:

More PSC Downloads

As promised, here's another full Paranoid Social Club show. This was live at the State Theater, from November 30, 2002. Download it now: ParanoidSocialClub-11-30-2002.zip

There is a copy of this show on archive.org, but it is .flac format, which is a high quality, lossless file. It is also significantly larger file size. Options are always good, though, so grab your mp3s or your flacs, and enjoy the show!

As you can see with the archive page, this was taped and created by Aaron Parker. All credit goes to him and I'm going to take this opportunity to thank him for all the work he's shared with us. It is much appreciated!

The order of the set is as follows:

1. Bully
2. Evolution
3. Last Cigarette
4. Fucking With My Head
5. In My Headphones
6. Theme Song
7. Combustible
8. She Gets Me High
9. The Big Picture
10. Soul Demolition
11. Ricochet
12. Save Me
13. Wasted

Paranoid Social Club's First Show

I'm going through my stash of Rustic-related files and have uncovered a few things to upload in the next few days. The first of which I've sorted out, is what appears to be the debut of Paranoid Social Club. I'm not sure where I got it, to be honest, so I'm trying to piece together the details.

Before we get into that, here's your link so you can get that download started now! ParanoidSocialClub-FirstShow.zip

Originally, it was a single mp3 file, PSC_live_jun5.mp3 which obviously leads us to believe that the date of the show was June 5th, 2002. Listening to the recording, they state it is their first performance, and also we learn that they are opening for 2 Skinnee J's. That's what we'll go with, but if you have any knowledge as to the date, the venue, and so forth; or can confirm this as correct, by all means please do so!

While I've split it into separate tracks, all credit goes to the original taper. The order of the set is as follows:

1. Save Me
2. Can't Buy Me Love
3. In My Headphones
4. Theme Song
5. Soul Demolition
6. She Gets Me High
7. Everybody Run (Ricochet)
8. Last Cigarette
9. Evolution
10. Rocksinger
11. The Big Picture
12. Wasted

New Year's Eve YouTube Bonanza

As promised, the New Year's Eve Bash was recorded. The quality isn't the best, unfortunately, due to input levels, but it's better than nothing, and there's some great moments in each set that are worth checking out, absolutely. The setlist is up (yes, finally) with notes from the message board by Darek.

Here's links to the recordings, I sliced up the three sets posted on the board into tracks, and zipped them by set: As Fast As, Paranoid Social Club, Rustic Overtones

Capping things off in a big way, here's a boatload of Youtube links. A huge thanks to Kane for capping them!! Nice work!!

As Fast As
Open Letter To The Damned
Gretchen My Captain (embedded above)
This Is Real Part 1
This Is Real Part 2

Paranoid Social Club
Theme Song
Rhythm Is (With Spencer)
Fuckin With My Head

Rustic Overtones
The Letter & Hardest Way Possible
C'Mon
Sector Z

Waterville Setlist and Download

Missed the Rustic Overtones show at the Waterville Opera House? As you can see, MPBN has it! But they're not alone. There's a few versions of this performance available for download.

Board member Nuphus recorded it from the live stream (Part 1, Part 2) although experienced an occasional cut-out in the sound. Next, you can download it from the MPBN site, as one huge mp3. Your third option is courtesy of Darek, who cut the MPBN copy into separate tracks. You can download that zip file here.

MPBN has also made Marie Morsehead's set available. You'll have to grab that from their site, however.

I've tacked on the setlist for the show which includes a long commentary by Nuphus, so check that out while you wait for your downloads. Also, if you were in attendance at the Pickle Barrel, on the 27th, we are missing that setlist and/or details. Get in touch with us if you have something! Thanks to everyone for their efforts!

Waterville Opera House

Rustic is playing NOW at the Waterville Opera House. It is an acoustic show featuring an orchestra composed of local musicians, mostly high school students. More information can be found here.

You can listen to a live stream of the show broadcast by Maine Public Broadcasting Network here, and if you miss it, don't worry! The show will also be made available to download in the coming week. Apologies for the late notice, but better late than never, no?

Harpers Ferry Download

Here are links to a recording of Friday's show at Harpers Ferry. There are two options to download, track by track as single mp3s, or in 2 parts (part 1, part 2) in zip files. Huge thanks to Peter (Onlycrayons) for getting this taped!

Live at Fletcher's

I am off to Boston for the weekend, to catch Saturday's (and maybe Friday's too) performance at Harpers Ferry. Getting together with my old roommate, and with questionable weather, it could be a few days until I'm able to upload and post my pictures. I'm bringing my camera junk with me, so if there's time I'll do it there.

In the meantime, I leave you with some old goodies. First item of business, all of the photo galleries have been revamped. The images have been moved to a dedicated photobucket, and the galleries were reworked so that it's no longer a single column down the whole page. Faster loading, less scrolling, happier fingers!

The second item is another bootleg, featuring Rustic Overtones, live at Fletcher's, in Baltimore, Maryland. This set is from June 14, 2001. I thought it was on Archive.org, but I can't find it anymore, so I put it up. You can download it here. Have a great weekend!

Higher Ground

Rustic played Friday night, at Higher Ground, in Burlington, Vermont. A handful of board members were in attendance, including Adam/Handsingloves, who was kind enough to tape the show and hook us up. As always, get it here or head on over to the Rustic media section for it and more goodies. A gallery is also in the makings, courtesy of Darek, which I will put up soon. Thanks again, you two!

WCYY Patio Show

The moment we've all been waiting for. Earlier this evening the guys played their first real show, with all the guys there, plugged-in and everything.

You can see a small gallery here at MaineToday, and more importantly you can find a recording(!) of the performance, broken into individual tracks, courtesy of Tim over at RockLikeWar. If you've got any shots of your own, pass 'em on to us and we'll get them into a gallery.
