TheRusticOvertones.com Launched

Last week, the Rustic Overtones announced they would soon be launching their very own website. As of January 29th the site was open, featuring some new artwork (above) by Pat Corrigan, though some sections are 'coming soon.'

Take a look for yourself: http://www.therusticovertones.com. I have added a link to the top of our list, as well as links to their iTunes, Facebook and Twitter pages.

Not Dead Yet

Yeah, we are still here. Apologies for neglecting this for so long. Way back when we left, the guys were not touring much as they began work on a new album, and a lack of news and setlists left us with nothing to do. And we fell asleep when they came back around, leaving a pile of work to do to catch up.

Procrastinating only had it snowball, and I just didn't have the time to do it all. Things are moving again though, just in time for classes to start up again (ugh) but I'll break it into chunks and hopefully be up to date soon.

Quick Archive Update

Added set lists from July 10th, at Newport Blues Cafe, July 12th, at Memorial Park and a photo gallery from the Rock & Blues Cruise courtesy of R. Pelletier. We're missing information from the 11th in Outerland, however. If you have any photos or stories to submit please do so.

Darek discovered a video of Letter To The President from the 12th on YouTube, and Onlycrayons has audio and some pictures from these shows on the way. We'll have those links up for you when they're finished, so check back in the coming days or sign up on the message board and stay ahead of the game.

Rockin' the Boat

This past Friday evening, Rustic Overtones played a spectacular set for an enthusiastic crowd aboard the Frederick L. Nolan, Jr., a ship which is part of the Rock and Blues Cruise fleet. However, due to the huge turnout, it looked more like a giant tin of human-sardines.

Despite being packed from wall to wall, floor to floor, floor to ceiling, bow to stern, nobody seemed to care. It was a great show, and a unique event. You can scope out the set list from the show along with a great recap courtesy of Donna and OswegoMatt from the Message Board.

I've also uploaded to videos I shot to YouTube, although there isn't much to see. Since the band was not elevated on a stage of any sort, you couldn't see much beyond the first couple rows. I filmed them from the bow of the ship, through the doorways on each side. They still sound good, though!

You can listen to Rustic Overtones play C'mon below, or click for History Crush.

Catching Up

First off, apologies for the lack of recent updates. As you have noticed, the site has gotten a much needed makeover. This took up much of the time that would have been used to compose the updates. Please let us know if we missed anything! Anywho, with things wrapping up, we have some serious catching up to do!

Set lists and photos from recent shows at Tupelo Music Hall, Asylum, Paradise Rock Club and Jerky's Bar. Check out the new, consolidated Dates page for those links, as well as the upcoming schedule.

In addition to set lists and photos, there are four(!) new full shows available from these dates on archive.org. Huge thanks to everybody for their contributions!

Letter to the President Music Video

Exclusive new video for Rustic Overtones' "Letter To The President," from their new record "Light At The End". Directed by Doug Karr & Edward Boyce.

The video was shot in Brooklyn on February 29 when the boys were in NYC for their sold-out shows at Sullivan Hall.

The tour continues on with two final stops in Providence on Friday the 18th and Boston the 19th. Thanks to Darek and oswegomatt for their setlist and report from last night's show at Higher Ground. A new gallery has just been posted featuring Darek's shots.
